ABC is looking forward to playing at the Garden Party benefit for the BFX. This time we are doing a condensed version of the Country Gardens program. Nicola Matteis, who walked across Europe to England with a violin on his back under his cloak (was rich for a while and died a pauper), Tobias Hume, a soldier, (who died in poverty), Orlando Gibbons, organist and composer (died of a sudden apoplexy), John Jenkins (well loved by all), Daniel Purcell ( a mysterious relative of Henry), and Thomas Arne (Rule, Brittannia!). If you can not attend this event, we are performing the whole concert at a house concert in June.
Oh, dear, the calendar keepers were not co-ordinated! The Sebastopol Center for the Arts concert is being rescheduled. Turns out they did not think Memorial Day weekend was the best time for a concert! Instead, Alphabet Baroque Club will wave some flags and keep rehearsing and eating and drinking Coffee and Doughnuts!
Alphabet Baroque Club is delighted to present a concert programmed around Coffee and Doughnuts! We will be presenting it twice, once at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts (without free coffee and doughnuts) on May 27, and once with complimentary coffee and doughnuts with your $15 admission charge . This will be part of the Berkeley Early Music Festival (BFX) fringe concerts, and will take place at the Berkeley Piano Club. More information at http://www.berkeleyfestival.org/alphabet-baroque-club-3/
I will be posting upcoming concerts as soon as I figure it out!
